2026 CSABE/SCGAB FELLOW

Dr. Fuji Jian has been an active member of CSABE for the last 11 years and has served as CSABE Regional Director (Manitoba) since 2018, attending the CSABE annual meetings without interruption. Fuji has served as an organizing committee member and a member of the panel of judges at several CSABE annual meetings. Fuji taught 2 to 4 courses every year, and supervised or co-supervised 24 BSc, 15 summer, 11 M.Eng, 15 MSc, and 12 PhD students. He supervised 9 visiting scholars (professors). After the end of 2021, he received more than $1 million as a solo PI or leading PI. His average number of peer-reviewed journal publications per year is more than 10. Fuji’s team published 132 peer-reviewed papers, 30 conference proceeding papers, 5 book chapters, and one book, in which he is the solo or leading author of 72 peer-reviewed journal papers. His team conducts pioneering research in 6 areas, and the most significant contributions are: 1) concept development and conduct pioneering study; 2) challenged traditional mathematical modelling methods and developed novel models; 3) measured grain storage parameters; 4) developed innovative methods used for the grain industry; and 5) developed guidelines for the grain industry. Due to these significant contributions, he was invited as a keynote speaker in 6 international conferences and invited as an expert to discuss his study in Canada or in other countries. He received 2 research awards and was interviewed by different media. Fuji is the editor board member and academic or guest editor of 3 journals, the associate editor of Biosystems Engineering, the editor of the Journal of Stored Products Research, and the editor of two international conferences.
