Sustainable development at Laval University

(from the Internet site of Laval University)

After many years of constant efforts, Laval University achieved the status of ‘carbon neutral’ by reducing extensively their greenhouse gas emissions, compensating them with the help of a carbon sink in Forêt Montmorency (Montmorency Forest) and by buying carbon credits. Laval University became the very first University in Québec and in Canada to present, without being obliged by a law, a balance showing zero greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014, Laval University obtained STARS accreditation with a ranking of 9th in the world and first in Canada.
